After spending a great couple of days with the club at the Rattigan youth hostel it was time to head home. However with Sundays forecast looking promising I decided there was just enough time to fit in one last hill on the way back down the road. I chose Am Bathach as the summit was a mere 3km from the road and although it would be steep I would be able to climb it in a morning.
As I drove along the road the low cloud showed some signs of breaking and I looked forward to the prospect of climbing above the clouds. I was not disappointed, within 15mins of walking these were the views of the South Cluanie ridge and the surrounding Glen.
I reached the top in an hour and a half and was treated to great views of Ciste Dhubh and the Glen Affric hills.
After a quick bite to eat it was time to return down the same route but taking the time to soak up the views and add to my camera roll which was now looking pretty full!
